Is it just as right for a man to hit a women, as it is for a women to a man?

My opinion is that if a women hits a man she should expect to be hit back with equal force. I have always stood by this and if i hit my boyfriend in a rage he will hit me back equally as hard. Funnily enough i dont hit him much lol
