Carl jung archetype help!!!!!!!!?

What happens if the Self's or it maybe the shadow's ( the archetypes) wants and needs are ignored???? i remember reading somewhere that you souldn't ignore them and that something very bad would happen if you did. but i can't remember what it was. Please help me. What happens????
