I catch him in little lies. what should i say or do?

my guy [we both like each other, but we're not dating yet] tells me stories & he embellishes alot. or something will happen, he'll tell our friends with me right there & it's not as dramatic as he says to our friends. & when i said i didn't do a certain thing he said i did, he tells ME to stop lying. when he's on the phone with his mom when im with him, he'll lie about little things like what's taking us so long or something like that. i like him alottt so i keep ignoring the fact that i've caught him in these lies, but then part of me keeps thinking, well how can i know if he's going to be honest about big things?! what should i say next time?
