yes but it does not negate the effect oft the opposing effect however you can possibly get rid of the the targets they were targeting on your field example your opponents field 2set spell/traps plus i dont no queen bird(lol) ur field is black wing gale and a set icarus attack ur opponet activates one of their facedowns its icarus attack they target ur gale and set icarus attack by tributing their queen bird(Troll lol) you can chain your icarus attack to his and tribute ur gale to destroy any of his cards including his iccarus attack just make sure u destroy the other set s/t and since he already tributed queen bird he cnt git it back
